Bio, Short Stories & Other Links
Section IX · The RecordZach Selwyn is an Emmy‑nominated producer / singer‑songwriter / actor / host and writer who currently has a starring role in the new “Trailer Park Boys” movie, “Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties,” with Billy Bob Thornton, Ron Wood and Duff McKagan. He wrote five of the original songs in the film.
Zach has written songs for musicians and comedians like Chelcie Lynn, Jack Black, the late Greg Giraldo, members of Brian Wilson’s band and Fergie from Black Eyed Peas. From 2007–2009 Zach served as Comedy Central’s in‑house original comedic songwriter — which spawned viral hits like White People Problems and Chick Drinks, leading to him being considered for SNL a few years later.
Zach is widely known for his on‑camera and live performance presence, hosting the History Channel show “America’s Secret Slang,” being a regular on G4’s “Attack of the Show” and serving as the house band leader on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.” As talent, he has appeared on over 75 programs in the past decade — including original series for NBC, AMC, Comedy Central, Discovery and CMT. His latest TV show was “Parking Lot Payday” on AXSTV. Some of his writing / production credits include the hit TV show “Brainchild” on Netflix, “Frogger” on Peacock and producing / writing / starring in Emmy‑nominated digital content for TBS from 2016–2018.
Other credits include “No Direction Home,” “FBI: Most Wanted,” “The NBC SNL Futures Showcase,” “The Mindy Project,” “Battleship” and “Around the Horn” on ESPN — an opportunity given to him after he broke through on the reality ESPN show “Dream Job” in 2004, which searched for the next SportsCenter anchor.
His first novel Stoner Chronicles Book One: Austin Translation was published in 2026 by Macmillan Press / Rogue Matter.
